I feel very fortunate that a former coworker introduced me to SGMP in 2004. At that time, I belonged to a team tasked with planning and conducting a statewide annual training conference as part of the "5% other duties as assigned" section of our position descriptions. SGMP provided me with the training and tools necessary to plan successful conferences. It also provided me with a network of both planners and suppliers that I can call when the unusual situation pops up or when I need support. Today, I manage a team responsible for conducting 24 one-day conferences every year. SGMP continues to provide me with ideas on how we can offer the same or higher level of service more efficiently and more economically.
