Name: Kathleen Harmon I have been employed with the Washington Fire Chiefs for 4 years. My position with the WFC is Association Administration and Technical Support. In working with the WFC, I have been able to leverage my skills in web design, event management, print media and marketing. We hold yearly events all over Washington State for our organization and our seven sections. These events can range from small two-hour workshops, to larger five-day conferences and trade shows. Our attendance can range from 15 to 250 individuals and includes pre-event planning and onsite coordination. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and cannot imagine any place more beautiful. As part of my job, I've had the privilege of visiting places in Washington I've never been to before. It has been so amazing to see the variety and splendor Washington State has to offer! I have a background that started with the Science of Litho Press in college. This taught me about the technical aspects of designing documents, making them easily printable, mail worthy and beautiful. From there, I quickly became involved in designing websites, marketing publication creation and design, and eventually event planning. I have worked at a variety of very small offices, and have learned the value of creative thinking, and doing more with less. I am a firm believer that with creative thinking, our non-profit organization can be as successful as any for-profit organization. I am very excited to join the Pacific Northwest Chapter of Society of Government Meeting Professionals, and am looking forward to the many people, resources and educational opportunities this group has to offer!
